Adobe Typewriter function

Adobe Reader has a Typewriter Tool that allows users to add text to PDFs. This is useful for having students complete assignments electronically, especially if the student is already using another function, such as the Read Out Loud function. Examples of this can be found below:

Great tool, right? Well, there is a drawback to this function. You can only enable the Typewriter Tool in Adobe Acrobat Pro, which is not available for free. Fortunately, your school district has a few licenses of this software, which you may have access to on a nearby computer. You only need the Pro version to activate the Typewriter Tool. Once it has been activated, the Typewriter Tool can be used on any computer with Adobe Reader. With all of this in mind, please be understanding if you are not able to get Adobe Acrobat Pro installed on your school computer. If you would like to inquire about getting Adobe Acrobat Pro installed on your computer or find a computer near you that already has the application installed, please contact the Rockford Schools Help Desk.

Alright, I'm sure you are eager to learn how to enable the Typewriter Tool in Adobe Acrobat Pro, but you need to check which version you are using. Depending on which version your are using, the steps to enable the Typewriter Tool are different. Most of you probably have access to version 9, which is outlined in the first video and PDF. For others that have access to version X (10), please click here to jump to the corresponding video and PDF.
